Name: Denise
Character Chosen: Jeane
Bio: One of the biggest mysteries in the Suikoden world, Jeane was originally seen as a beautiful runemistress in the town of Antei during the Liberation War. She joined the Toran Liberation Army as the army's resident runemistress and following the war returned to her shop in Antei for a brief period before travelling north, to Jowston. In Jowston she thought at New Leaf Academy and after Greenhill fell to Highland forces, she fled to Two River where she ran another rune shop. She later joined the Allied Army where it first became apparant that there something odd about her, the detective Richmond seemingly unable to find out anything about her.
Fifteen years later, she turned up during the Second Fire Bringer War, working in her usual capacity as a runemistress, this time at Brass Castle. After joining the Fire Bringer, she asked Koroku the dog not to tell anybody about her 'true form'. She had not aged at all in the pervious fifteen years, yet it was confirmed during the war that she was not equiped with a True Rune.
It was then discovered that she also used to run a rune shop on the island of Na-Nal in the Island Nations Federation, 150 years prior to the Toran Liberation War. She joined Lazlo's force before disappearing without a trace at the end of the war. She also joined Kyril's group at Haruna in Kooulk several years later after he had completed a task she had requested at the Middleport Quest Guild.
Also, in early 449, six years prior to the Liberation War, Jeane, sporting pink hair, had moved to Sol-Falena, opening a rune store. Following the Godwin coup d'etat later in the year, she was brought to the Sun Palace to investigate the Sun Rune and, if possible, to attach it to either a member of the Godwin faction or the Princess, Lymsleia Falenas. She was unable to do so, but before she left Sol Falena was asked to perform one more job, attaching the Twilight Rune to Alenia despite her not being chosen by it.
Following this, she moved to Lelcar, opening another store and attracting much male attention. She was eventually asked to join the Loyalist Army by Freyjadour Falenas and agreed, on one condition; that she be taken to the ruins beneath the Big Hole north-west of Rainwall. There, Jeane opened the doors to the ruins of a city from the Ancient Armes Dynasty. With the help of the Prince, Jeane made her way through the ruins of the city, entering a large temple whereupon she obtained an item from a box deep inside. Following this, she agreed to the Prince's request, moving her shop to the Loyalist headquarters at Ceras Lake.
In the midst of the siege of Doraat, she had a short conversation with Zerase, whom she seemed to know, remarking that her attempt to attach the Sun Rune to Lymsleia had failed. She later asked the Prince to return with her to the Big Hole, where they encountered Eresh, another mysterious person, who treated Jeane with respect. After assisting her with her investigation of still deeper ruins, she also joined the Loyalist forces.
During a conversation with Lu and Marina, Jeane remarked that she had never been called "cute", something she wished would happen sometime.
After the war, she returned to Sol-Falena and carried on with her rune business for a time before she eventually stopped showing up for work. The next recorded appearance is in Antei during the Toran Liberation War.
There has yet to be an adequate explanation for these events although rumours are rife. It is known, however, that she is a friend of Raura, the Allied Army's scrollmaker who is a mystery unto herself.
